Tips for Printing JPGs

We have put together some helpful tips for printing PurpleTrail JPG downloads:

Click to download the JPG file from your PurpleTrail account or receipt.  The JPG image will open in your web browser.

Right click on the image and select “Save image as”.  This will allow you to save the image to a location on your computer, like your desktop or your photos folder.

Once the image is saved, click to open JPG file.  Your image will open in the default photo program that your computer has (ex.  Windows Photo Viewer).  In that program, select to print the image.

In the print window, select the print properties for the orientation, number of copies, paper type, paper size and print quality (at least 300 dpi if available).

Then send your image to the printer that you are using.

Important note for all at home printing:  Most home laser and inkjet printers cannot print to the edge of the paper.  They leave a white border around the outside of the printed card.  This is a limitation of these types of printers and cannot be fixed by changing printer settings, etc.  After the card is printed the white border can be trimmed.  The exception to this is home printers that specifically indicate they can print to the edge, like some photo inkjet printers.
