PurpleTrail makes it easy to create beautiful and unique photo books using our web tools and our library of thousands of design elements. Once you create you photo book, you can purchase a high resolution download to either print at home or take to a local printer, or you can send your photobook online. We currently do not offer printing of photo books, but are adding this very soon.
It often works best to pick a design to start from, and then you can modify it to your liking. Once you select a design, you will see a three step process for creating your photo book.
Step 1: Personalize Photo Book
Click the personalize button to open the photo book design within the PurpleTrail Design Center. Using the design tools you can customize the photo book with unlimited changes. The possibilities are endless!
Start by checking the size of your photo book. It is listed at the top of the design below the tools. We currently offer three photo book sizes – small, medium and large. If you want to change the size, use the “Size and Format” button to make changes. Note: when you change the size, elements within your design may shift.
Once the size of your book is ready, you can start designing. You can keep it simple and just add your own photos and be done. Or you can make as many changes as you like including changing the page backgrounds, adding embellishments, adding text and shapes, and even adding or removing pages. Keep in mind that it is recommended that books have a minimum of 20 pages (10 sheets).
When you are finished designing your photo book if you want to come back and edit more later click “Save My Progress”. If you are ready to order your photo book click the “I’m Finished.” button to save all your changes and exit the design center. Keep in mind you can use the “Save My Progress” button to save your progress at any time, and you can also save, exit and come back to work on your design at any time. All of your designs will be saved within your PurpleTrail account.
Steps 2 and 3: Next Step Preview and Place Order
Click the “Next Step” to start the ordering process.
At this time you can order the high resolution file of your photo book to be emailed to you for printing at home or at your favorite local printer. The cost is $8.95 for each high resolution download. When you purchase the download, you will immediately be able to download a pdf of your photo book (300 dpi resolution). Click “Add to cart” to proceed.
You will then have an opportunity to verify what’s in your shopping cart. If all looks good, you then can click “Proceed to Checkout”
You will then proceed to the payment and billing information page. You can also enter any promo codes you have.
After completing your billing and payment info you are ready to place your order!
