If you are a parent of a school-aged child, chances are they are caught up in the Silly Bandz craze taking over across the country. What exactly are Silly Bandz? Exactly what they sound like, small bands that are created in an array of shapes.  Kids can wear, share, and trade them – and they are doing exactly that.

1. When you invite your guests to your party, send your invitation cards attached to Silly Bandz, of course, and have the kids wear them and as many as they can to your party.

2. When the kids arrive, the party can be about trading them.  Set out snacks and drinks and let them share time trading.

3. Afterwards, take a series of Silly Bandz photos of the kids attending your party.  Have them pose any way they like together and on their own and snap those pictures.  Kids will love this.

4. Hide the Silly Bandz.  Before the guests arrive, hide as many Silly Bandz as you can and have the kids go on a Bandz Hunt.  Who can find the most?

 5. Yes, the kids wear and share their Bandz, but what other uses are there for these Silly Bandz?  Have the kids come up with unique ideas for their Bandz that they may not have thought of before.  Divide the kids into teams of two to figure out something new and present to the group.

6. Create a Silly Bandz song.  This goes along with the earlier photo session.  Put on a karaoke tune that the kids love and have them create an ode to Silly Bandz.  Record and have fun playing it back again and again. Perhaps have a Battle of the Silly Bandz and have teams of kids come up with different songs.

7. Are your guests looking to bring the Silly Bandz to others who may or may not have any?  Create a Silly Bandz donation and have the kids sort through Bandz they no longer want or open new packages, and prepare Bandz with kind notes to organizations that serve needy children to share the Silly Bandz phenomenon.

8. Make up a batch of cookie dough, and roll it out thin.  Place the Silly Bandz on the dough and using an exact knife or tool, cut out Silly Bandz shapes (make sure to supervise this activity well), and then bake up your Silly Bandz cookies and enjoy your treat.

9. For a festive party drink, make a pitcher of favorite punch or lemonade, and freeze Silly Bandz in your ice cubes.

10. For your party favor, what else?  Send them home with additional packs of Silly Bandz.
