Are the people in your work place or office in need of a pick-me-up this month? Everyone knows it’s tough to site in your cubical wishing you were outside! Everyone has Spring Fever, so take a small amount of your time to create a fun and uplifting team-bonding experience in your work place!
Spring game and activity ideas for your work place:
1. Have a plant-growing contest!
Everyone fills a paper cup with provided soil/dirt and plants a seed (use grass seed for a no-fail option). Throughout the course of the next week or two, have everyone take their cups to their cubes and determine a winner by a certain date for the best growth spurt!
2. Spring Cleaning!
Use petty cash or employee benefit funds and stop at your local store and get fun, cleaning supplies for everyone to use! I found great all-purpose cleaners in a variety of scents. Those along with glass cleaners, dusters, keyboard cleaners, and fabric fresheners will be well-received in your office! Put it together in a fun, spring basket and place in your break room or another common area for everyone to enjoy.
3. Spring Strolls!
Schedule a 15 or 30 minute group walk around your office building area to give employees a chance to stretch their legs, get a quick exercise break, and enjoy the warmer weather! Do this around your lunch hour if time is a concern, or a quick 15-minute break if your morning or afternoon hours.
4. Clothing Drive!
Everyone is Spring Cleaning around this time of year and emptying out their closets at home. Initiate an employee clothing drive and donate the items to a local thrift store or charity. Contact the store ahead of time and ask for tips and high-demand items. You can turn this into a contest for your employees where they get an entry into a grand prize drawing. For example, they get one entry for every 5 items donated. Car wash certificates or common store gift cards are a great prize!
5. Prom Brag Board!
Invite employees to bring a photo in of their senior prom back in the day! Post the photos on a shared bulletin board for everyone to get a good laugh!
