Along side your thoughtful Mother’s Day cards, why not make mom a homemade craft too. This beautiful craft idea from kidsfunreviewed.com is perfect for Mother’s Day, a luau or garden themed party. These flowers don’t wilt! They will make a beautiful centerpiece or use as accents throughout the party area.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Thin wire anywhere from 8-12″ long
- Craft Glue
- 3-6 different brightly colored sheets of tissued paper

To Assemble
You’ll want to start by cutting out 3 different sized squares, 8″x4″, 6″x4″, and 4″x4″. Start layering the tissue squares until you have 4 to 6 layers per flower, starting with the larger sheets on the bottom. You can use the same color or all different colors for each layer, just decide how you want it to look. You trim to tips to be rounded or spikey, whatever you’d like the shape of the petals to be. Don’t cut the sides, they will dissapear when you assmeble in the wire. Once you have all your layers, gather in the center and put a small amount of glue on the gather. Wrap the wire around the gather to secure everything and then use the remaining wire as the stem.
This craft is easy and fun and something you can enjoy for a long time! You can even send a bunch home as a party favor.
