Gratitude is on our minds with Thanksgiving around the corner. As you get your Thanksgiving dinner invitations sent out, take a minute to think about what you are grateful for. If you have kids, incorporate a little lesson in gratitude into a fun family craft. Here are a couple of fun Thanksgiving kids crafts to do.
Gratitude Tree
Go outside and collect some leaves of varying shapes and sizes. Trace leaves on construction paper of your favorite fall colors. Cut them out. Have the kids (and you) write things they are grateful for in their life. Create a tree trunk and branches (however big you like) from brown construction paper and have the kids adhere the leaves to the branches. You’ll end up with a beautiful family tree of gratitude for all to enjoy.
Notes of Gratitude
Have each of your kids choose one or two people in their life they are especially grateful for. Then make a hand print turkey for each person they choose. Ask them to write the things they appreciate most about the people and deliver the turkeys either in person or via mail.
Gratitude Place cards
Cut out a variety of leaf shapes in fall colors. For each person that is coming to your Thanksgiving table, write their name on a leaf and why you and your family are thankful for them. The place it on the table as a place card for each guest.
Happy Thanksgiving! Remember to take some time to show a little gratitude for the important people in your life.
