As you send out your Halloween party invitations, here’s some great ideas from Lisa Kothari of Peppers and Pollywogs on alternatives to candy for trick or treating. Find your favorite idea to use this Halloween.
If you want to take a break from handing out candy this year, here is a list of alternative non-sweet treats to hand out:
- Popcorn Ball
- Little plastic animals, e.g. spider rings
- Glow in the dark slime
- Mad Scientist “Google Glasses”
- Small Pad of Paper and Halloween Pencils and erasers
- Box of Raisins
- Healthy Snack tied in a little plastic bag with a black pipe cleaner
- Tattoos
- Glow-in-the-Dark Decals
- Mini Face Painting Kits
- Fake Teeth
- Fake Blood
- Little novelty items like small pumpkins, mini skulls
Last but not least, you could always do what was popular in the 70s and hand out apples!
