Decorating the Christmas tree is one of the best parts of decorating for Christmas.  Christmas ornaments can be expensive and if you like to change it up every year, that can add up!  As you prepare your Christmas cards this year and bring our the Christmas decorations, mix it up a little and make your own Christmas tree decorations.

Popcorn and Cranberries. An oldie but a goodie. String popcorn and fresh cranberries for a festive, natural look.

Cranberry Ornaments.  You can also cover small styrofoam balls with cranberries.  Just take small straight pins and attach the berries to the balls. Secure a ribbon on top for hanging.

Punch Out Garland.   Take your favorite holiday punch out shape or design and punch out several shapes on scrapbooking paper or paper stock.  Hole punch the tops and string together with some festive ribbon.

Photo Garland. Cut out photos with holiday stencils or finishing scissors.  Hole punch and string together.  Smiling faces make beautiful holiday decorations.

Paint your own ornaments. You purchase clear plastic or glass ornaments at most craft stores fairly inexpensively.  Paint them with acrylic paint or dip into your nail polish and create fun holiday designs.  These also make great party favors and stocking stuffers!
