Parents are rejoicing and children are moping as the end of August draws near. It’s back to school time fall is upon us. Send summer off with a bang. Get your back to school invitations out early and plan a great back to school bash this year. We have a few party ideas to help you ease the kids back into the routine of the school year.
For the little ones: For early grade schoolers, the dread may not have set in yet. They may be very excited for school to begin. For some, it might be there first time at school for the whole day. Plan a mid day party filled with fun summer games the require a little listening and direction following. Games like simon says, mother may I?, and red light green light are great to play in the summer sun. End the party with a fun treasure hunt for school supplies. Pencils, erasers, crayons and notepads will soon be put to good use!
For the tweens: Generally a shopping trip can be geared toward girls but plenty of tween boys are interested in their wardrobe as well. Plan a group shopping trip (you may want a parent or two along) and let them consult with each other on their fall purchases. Head back to the house for a slumber party. Let them model their finds for one another. After the fashion show, have a barbecue and enjoy the long summer evening. Let the kids stay up late and watch their favorite movies and enjoy the late nights while they can!
For the teens. Teens may or may not want to have an official back to school bash. But if they do, let them choose the theme. For newly licensed drivers perhaps giving them the car to go to a drive in movie with a few friends is how they’d like to enjoy a summer night. Or maybe they’d like to go on camping trip. Check in and see how they’d like to “celebrate” going back to school. Help them plan but let them take the reigns!
